10-8-08.....Peno
and Tee had posted
cartoons poking fun of televangelists on Peno's blog. Today's entry is
Creflo Dollar, pastor of a mega-church in the Atlanta,Ga area. The
cartoon has Creflo in a pimp suit. The idea is based on a YouTube
video of pastor James David Manning of Harlem NYC
accusing Creflo of being a pimp.
9-26-08....Today's comic is a reference to a YouTube video of word -of-faith televangelists Kenneth Copeland and Rodney Howard Browne talking in tongues. 9-24-08...Peno ran across a video on YouTube of Benny Hinn's wife, Suzanne. The third panel in today's comic is referenced to the actual video courtesy of YouTube. 9-12-08....Word of Faith televangelist Benny Hinn makes a cameo appearance in today's comic. 9-10-08....Pastor James David Manning of Atlah World Ministries in Harlem,Ny makes a cameo appearance. Most people thinks Pastor Manning resembles Uncle Ruckus, the self-hating african american from the comic strip and animated series, "The Boondocks." 
 9-8-08....In today's comic, Peno is channel surfing and came across Creflo Dollar, pastor and founder of World Changers International Church in College Park, Ga, just south of Atlanta. He is known for his controversial teachings of the "Prosperity Gospel." 9-1-08....Today is the begining of the new storyline entitled "Those False Prophet Cartoons." It is a spoof of those cartoons of the muslim prophet Mohammed that were printed on a Danish newspaper three years ago, which sparked a muslim uproar. This spoof is targeting the televangelists who exploiting the gullibility of followers for fame and fortune. According to the bible, they're snake oil salesmen. Watch for appearences by Benny Hinn, Creflo Dollar, and others. Today's comic finds Peno and his owner Katie inside the house on a rainy day flipping through the TV channels and came across Peter Popoff. Peter Popoff was a televangelist who was exposed as a fraud 20 years ago by skeptic James Randi. Popoff dropped out of sight and filed bankrupcy. 20 years later he's back and up to his old tricks. Check out clip below courtesy of YouTube. 7-30-08...Peno takes on R&B's R. Kelly (Trapped In The Closet, Bump N' Grind) in a spoof of a classic Warner Bros. cartoon from 1948; the one with Bugs Bunny and the fat opera singer. 3-10-08...In the conclusion of the current story line "Crank Calls", today's comic has Peno crank calling Fred Phelps of Westboro Baptist Church....Bart Simpson style. Check out the previous comic. Peno made a crank call to Fred's daughter, Shirley Phelps-Roper. |
